One of the biggest challenges facing farmers around the world is access to the right kind of information on their crops and the issues that affect their livelihoods. The Farmer-Extension project brings you the latest information from farming communities via Radio, SMS, video, weather maps, farmer training manuals and through picture books aimed at farmers with low literacy levels. Farmer-Extension has been created by the Lorna Young Foundation, a UK charity. At the moment we are working with coffee growing communities in Kenya and Ethiopia and with women cocoa farmers in DRC. Sign up for email updates by leaving your email address on our Contacts page.
As our programme extends into other countries and crops, relevant information will be presented on this website. Right now, here is some useful information for coffee farmers!
In this website you will find information about our new picture booklets that give easy to understand information about farming techniques. You will also find information about our farmer training modules.
